Local Driver/Courier

Copper River Seafoods, Inc.

 

POSITION PURPOSE

The Driver/Courier performs manual lifting and driving work. The primary responsibility of the Driver/Courier is to deliver products in a timely, safe and courteous manner. The Driver/Courier reports to the Alaska Sales Supervisor and works as part of a team in providing services to Copper River Seafoods customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gather and load orders/freight for delivery to and from local businesses.
• Verify box counts/product quantities to ensure completion of delivery to customers.
• Maintain delivery log and paperwork in an orderly manner.
• Communicate with dispatcher to ensure on time and efficient deliveries.
• Keep vehicle clean inside and out.
• Drives vehicle in a safe manner at all times, always wearing a safety belt.
• Must perform daily vehicle inspection
• Follow all safety regulations and precautions.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Possess a current Alaska Driver’s License
• Must provide driving record at time of interview
• Must pass a drug test and DOT physical
• Have knowledge of the Anchorage area
• Ability to lift 50lbs boxes.

 

OTHER:

Position is based in Anchorage. The job may require overtime and weekend work and is in a fast paced environment. May also include safe operation of a forklift and extended amounts of time in a refrigerated/frozen environment.
