Operations Manager


The Operations Manager is the lead member of the operations and office team, and reports directly to the
General Manager for the given area. The Operations Manager supervises operations teams of the assigned

facilities to ensure the data flow, integrity, and accuracy of the data systems and reports. The Operations
Manager reports directly to the General Manager for the assigned plant. The Operations Manager position
is based at company headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska.
During the summer fishing season, beginning in May and through to the end of August, the Operations
Manager will work and live on-site at Copper River Seafoods' plant in Naknek, Bristol Bay, Alaska
During the summer fishing season, the Operations Manager may also be assigned to temporarily visit other
company sites in Alaska, as needed. Corporate housing is provided during the summer fishing season.
During the off-season, the Operations Manager works at company headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska
(September to May), and may telecommute from home (anywhere in U.S., including Anchorage) between
the  beginning of November and the end of February. Housing is not provided during the off-season.


  • Update and submit production, shipping, and inventory reports that are both timely and accurate.
  • Analyze production and financial data.
  • Create and maintain reporting tools and system.
  • Assist General Manager in preparing budgets for plant sites.
  • Provide regular summary reports to keep the General Managers informed.
  • Manage tender contracts and supervise T-Landings.
  • Manage fish tickets, fishermen accounts and settlements for a given area.
  • Monitor and supervise facility budgeting, and provide after season financial summary reports.
  • Perform tasks with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Manage office agenda, such as personnel management, budget development, reporting,
    controlling, accounting, and costing models.
  • Prepare the plants for summer fishing season, including ordering food, production and engineering
  • supplies, and ensuring their on-site delivery.
  • Prepare final Operations report for Alaska Department of Fish & Games.
  • Demonstrate professional level verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills,
    which are applied to communications within and outside the company.


  •  Bachelor's Degree in a Business related discipline, such as Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting. Foreign equivalent degree is acceptable.

  • One year of experience in the fisheries industry and one year of experience in business finance. Experience may be contemporaneous.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

  • Willing to travel and live temporarily at assigned oversight plants in Alaska during the summer fishing season, including Naknek, Bristol Bay.
