QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
POSITION PURPOSE
The Quality Control Technician I assures the consistent, finest quality of all seafood products produced and processed by the production plant, through adherence and compliance with all company standards and governmental food handling practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
(1) Performs on-line quality and sanitary checks for all operations conducted at the assigned production facility.
(2) Evaluates finished product quality including grading, physical and/or chemical analyses of finished products, etc.
(3) Communicates, reports and records accurately test results to include daily report distribution and/or data input into the Quality Control computer base on a timely manner.
(4) Maintains a safe working environment in accordance with company policy at all times.
(5) Monitors the safe use of equipment and work habits in and around the work area. Keeps up to date data of current policies as they relate to safety.
(6) Ensures continuous improvements and cost efficiencies in position, department and company.
Secondary Responsibilities:
(1) Participates and successfully completes training in quality control procedures.
(2) Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledgeable in Excel, Word, Power Point, and PC office environment
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations; working knowledge of algebra desired.
• Ability to work well with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
Job Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Minimum 6 months – one year seafood production experience preferred.
•Able to work 12+ hours/7 days a week at a demanding pace.
•Able to follow directions and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
