Office Assistant



Job Description
Department: Production
Report to: Office Manager or Production Admin Specialist
Position Overview: Works as a team player in performing a variety of general office functions. This will include the completion of administrative tasks, general accounting clerical duties, payroll/HR paperwork completion, performing reception duties, mail sorting/distribution and others.


(1) Performs a variety of functions including receiving and redirecting incoming telephone calls, greeting visitors in a positive, courteous manner; may pick up mail from US Postal service and air cargo agents for sorting and distribution, etc.
(2) Establishes professional and harmonious working relations and coordinate all general office activities with the plant and the CRS Campus Accounting staff, IT department, Payroll/HR, other CRS plants, etc.
(3) Inventories and orders office supplies; coordinate with Production Assistant supply materials for production and maintenance departments, ensuring adequate supply is available at all times.
(4) Creates and maintains organized filing systems that would ensure access to company records at the plant level.
(5) Keeps a log and schedules of routine monthly office equipment maintenance (printers, fax machines, copiers, computers, etc.)
(6) Develops, implements and maintains Copper River Seafoods company vision to ensure continuous improvements and cost efficiencies.

Secondary Responsibilities:

(1) May generate reports and other documents as assigned by the Office Manager/Admin Specialist and/or General Manager.
(2) Will require cross training with Production Assistant to provide efficient workflow and proper coverage.
(3) Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Skills/Abilities:

• PC proficiency and working knowledge of Excel and Access required.
• Must be able to recognize the importance of self-instruction and time management.
• Ability to organize several projects and tasks at once. – can prioritize projects and programs.
• Ability to work independently and confidentially.
• Strong organizational skills – with ability to plan 1-3 months ahead.



Job Requirements:

• High school diploma preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in an office environment preferred.
• Knowledge of double entry accounting principles, payroll/HR systems preferred.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to interact positively and form relationships with professionals inside and outside the company.
• Ability to work long hours during high/peak processing seasons.
