1/12/12: Cordova Disaster Update

A staff and crew of Copper River Seafoods remains on-site, continuing to clear snow around the processing facility property.

Removing heavy snow from roofs was completed and surrounding pathways and dock area were still remaining.   Assessments of property damage are now being conducted.   It appears the metal building storing boats and gear, cannot be repaired from roof damage and will require demolition and re-construction over the next few months.  The logistics planning of securing and removing property and reconstruction are underway.

Special thank you to Alaska Sheet Metal for custom design/build of snow shovels to assist in snow removal in and around the Copper River Seafoods property.
