POSITION PURPOSE:

The facility Office Manager is a key member of the operations team, supporting fisheries, logistics, inventory, accounting, production, and associated reporting. This person reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with the corporate Fisheries Director. This person requires strong computer skills, organization and attention to detail, positive professional attitude, the ability to work in a team environment and communicate clearly and respectfully to fishermen and other outside agencies.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads an administrative support team of up to 3 employees that provide operational support in regard to fisheries, accounting and purchasing, logistics, production, HR and training.

Processes daily fish tickets and prepares preliminary reports to the General Manager, corporate Fisheries Director and ADF&G following each opener, as well as provides ticket copies in a timely manner to Bristol Bay ADF&G. Reconciles tickets to tender tallies on a daily, weekly, and annual basis.

Maintains accurate hard copies of fishermen’s and tender files; as well as all receipts/invoices and assist fishermen with questions regarding their account.

Processes facility, fishermen and tender purchase orders, and continually audits accounts for accuracy. Reconciles accounts on a daily, weekly, and annual basis.

Conducts production reporting and ensures reports are submitted on a timely and accurate basis.

Conducts daily/weekly/monthly/annual government reporting of raw product purchases and finished goods produced on a timely and accurate basis.

Prepares manifests/BOL’s for shipments of finished goods and maintains associated files.

Fosters a professional and harmonious working environment. Communicates clearly and respectfully with all site employees, vendors, suppliers, customers, fishermen, etc. Supports a strong team concept.

Creates and maintains an organized filing system. Ensures accuracy of all inventory reports, production reports, shipping and receiving reports, raw/physical inventory reports, receivable documents, and other production-related records.

Assists all facility department managers/leads with supply ordering and inventory management.

Identifies workflow improvements and works with the entire operations team to enact change.

Develops, implements, and maintains Copper River Seafoods’ company vision to ensure continuous improvements and cost efficiencies.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient at Excel, Word, and PC office environment.
  • Strong written and verbal skills in regard to report writing and training.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and programs – able to organize several projects and tasks at once.
    • Ability to work independently and confidentially.
    • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and activities.
    • Strong computer software and internet skills. Innova experience preferred.
    • Understand and adhere to all Federal and State regulations, permits, and reporting requirements.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma plus two years of college or a vocational degree.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in seafood processing/food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and math skills preferred.
  • Ability to interact positively and form relationships with professionals inside and outside the company.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends, during high/peak processing seasons.

Position is based in Naknek, Alaska. Position open until filled.
