 WORKING SANITATION SUPERVISOR

Copper River Seafoods, Inc.

 

Purpose:

The Working Sanitation Supervisor assists the Production Manager in successfully carrying out Right the First Time (RFT) cleaning objectives to ensure the production of safe and wholesome food.

  • The Working Sanitation Supervisor, coordinates, plans, trains and implements programs to educate employees about food processing sanitation, cleaning techniques and safety.
  • Inspects facility and work areas to meet or exceed cleanliness expectations.
    • Determines action steps to avoid recurrence of nonconformances using basic Root Cause Analysis techniques. Measures and tracks improvements via established reporting tools.
    • Leads by example by performing cleaning in accordance with established guidelines and specifications, and ensures equipment is operational for production runs.
    • Prepares and handles sanitation chemicals and equipment.
    • Reviews current procedures and makes updates/changes/modifications as appropriate.
      • Works directly with Chemical Supplier for technical assistance. Incorporates newest cleaning innovations into the workflow.
      • Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
      • Reports to the Production Manager.

          • Working knowledge of food manufacturing cleaning chemicals chemistry and associated applications.
          • Prefer High School diploma, with 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
          • Proven problem solving, decision making, and project management skills are necessary for success.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees of organization. Must be fluent in English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

Environmental Conditions:

Indoors in normal wet and dry food processing environment with exposure to excessive noise and temperature changes when on production floor.

 Frequent unscheduled interruptions.

 

Physical Demands:

Mobility within all areas of the facility required.

Personal protective equipment is required when on production floor. Personal protective equipment includes: plant boots, hairnet or beard (as applicable) and safety glasses. Additional protective equipment may be required based on unique or specific tasks.

 

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, and understand English, and use customer service skills. The employee is frequently required to use interpersonal and teamwork skills.
